Feathery Cassia
Synonym: Cassia artemisioides. This rounded, evergreen shrub has silver-grey needlelike foliage known as phyllodes. Native to Australia, it produces masses of bright yellow pea-like flowers in the early spring. The flowers are followed by brown papery seedpods that persist on the plant. Due to the small size of the leaves, it may be sheared once flowering has ceased, or informally pruned to control growth. Normal size is 6 to 8 feet in height and width. Plant in full sun, reflected heat and provide good drainage.
